WHO WE ARE

James Myers, CA previously worked in Coopers & Lybrand’s (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers) Toronto General Practice from 1989 to 1994, the last year of which was in the role of audit manager. James continued in that role at Wainman & Kidd, Chartered Accountants in Toronto until 1995.

James’ present and past client engagements include controllership responsibilities for a number of small- to mid-sized businesses in the technology, resource, and finance sectors, financial statement and corporate income tax return preparation, personal income tax and trust return preparation, partnership financial statements and tax returns, information system design, implementation, and documentation, financial modelling and budgeting, and family office services for high-net-worth individuals.

For nine years James was a sessional lecturer in advanced accounting at the University of Toronto.

While at Coopers & Lybrand James’ client engagements encompassed audits of small- to large-sized manufacturing and service businesses, banks, insurance companies, public sector agencies, and charitable and artistic organisations, as well as forensic investigations and consulting.

Chris Tsiofas, CA has 20 years of experience providing practical real world tax and business advice to small and medium sized businesses. Over the years he has consulted in areas including family and asset protection trusts, real estate bare trusts, partnerships, corporate structures and practical personal and corporate tax planning techniques. In the business advisory sphere he has consulted with a wide array of owners and mangers. Chris’s involvement in various successful business ventures over the years in an operating capacity has helped him to provide advice that is concise and practical. In business the importance of a plan is paramount and provides a map to reach your goals.

Chris is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation and has completed the In-Depth Taxation Courses of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is a alumnus of the downtown Toronto tax practice of Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers).

Nils Norheim, CA was previously Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer of a Canadian publicly traded corporation. Prior to that Nils was a Manager at Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), primarily in Toronto. Mr. Norheim speaks four languages and spent two years working in Europe for Coopers & Lybrand in Germany, Sweden and Norway.

Nils’ experience covers a wide spectrum of public and private companies in a variety of sectors, including manufacturing, telecommunications, high-tech, real-estate, banking, insurance, and non-profit. His 6 years at Coopers & Lybrand included terms in their General Practice, Taxation, Insolvency, and Corporate Finance groups.
